The Verenian Watchers
The Bronzebeard Family have long been the traditional scribes of the Verenian Watchers. The family was an esteemed family that originated in the lands of Verftet. In the early history of the Verenian Watchers, the guild was getting its bearings as to how to properly serve the people. It was the well-read and highly educated Crom Bronzebeard who suggested to the Watchers that they formally regulate their business dealings through express written contracts that spelled out what they were responsible for and the renumeration they would receive for their work. This was an unpopular and controversial move by many Watchers at first, who felt it was their solemn duty to support the people of Verenia, regardless of their financial means or other capabilities, but pragmatism eventually won out as the Abbey of the Watcher’s Vigil fell into disrepair.
Over time, the Watchers grew more accepting of the idea of accepting funds for their services, and as they normalized the process, the money-minded Bronzebeard family oversaw the drafting of contracts.
